When your furnace is blowing cold air, obviously the first thought going through your mind is how bad this is going to be. When it happens around Christmas time…well, you get the idea. Our furnace had been blowing cold air, off and on, for awhile and we just kind of put on another layer and ignored it. When it worked, we were ecstatic. Well, with the upcoming sub-freezing temperatures forecast, we knew we had to bite the bullet and get it looked at. We called Icy Hot in the morning, the day after Christmas and they came out within 4 hours of the call, right when they said they would After about 20 minutes working on our furnace, Frankie comes down and says "You need a new unit". Our jaws dropped at the bad news. Then he says "Just kidding" and laughed. That type of personal interaction is just another positive about Ice Hot. It turned out it was a very simple fix and our furnace was working perfectly. I can't state enough how trustworthy and professional Frankie and the folks at Icy Hot are. In this day and age of reports of companies taking advantage of uninformed consumers (which when it comes to HVAC, I fall squarely in that uninformed category), it is so refreshing to have a company like Icy Hot that takes pride in their customer service, pride in their work and pride in their honesty. Nothing sends a sick feeling to the stomach of a home owner like a major appliance failing to work properly. Thoughts go through your mind ranging from "this is a problem" to "omg this going to cost a fortune". I had thoughts of dread when I called Frankie about my air-conditioning. I can't tell you enough good about my experience. Icy-Hot is a legitimate and quality company. Frankie is a true professional. He correctly identified the problem and provided me with an abundance of information on the repair. While he provided much appreciated advice on improvements I could make to my HVAC system at no time did I feel pressured or that he was in anyway attempting to upsell me. In fact, my experience with him makes it HIGHLY likely that when the time comes to do major work on my system I will be using Icy-Hot. Within an hour of my call to Icy-Hot Frankie had my HVAC working perfectly and at a very reasonable cost. I would recommend this company to everyone. I have already referred my neighbors to him
I recently had my HVAC system break on me, and Frankie and his team walked me through the costs, risks, and benefits to replace the system versus repair the system. I ultimately decided to go with the system replacement option for my air handler and condensing unit. I did my due diligence by shopping around and compared to Icy Hot, other companies employed aggressive sales tactics, priced out systems that did not make sense for my situation, and tried to add extras that are unnecessary for my home. The next best company quoted me almost double for the work that Icy Hot quoted, and the other companies made me feel taken advantage of, whereas Icy Hot made me feel like they were on my side. Best of all, on the day of the install Icy Hot came in, worked efficiently, were nice to my cats, and all of the work came in right at the quoted price! Frankie & staff just left our home & we couldn't be more pleased. We have 3 a/c systems & 5 days before summer is 'official' the unit on the main floor quit. Aaacckkk!! Upon their next-day, on-time arrival IcyHot quickly diagnosed the problem & had it fixed–no fuss, no muss. They did a check-up on all 3 units and spoke plainly & intelligently on things to consider for the future, without the strong-arm sales pitch. After the job was done at an excellent price, we head into the sticky-hot North Carolina summer months with confidence & ice-cold air-conditioning. Should a problem arise in the future we will not hesitate to trust Frankie & Icy Hot with our home and repeat business. *Bonus* We have dogs and they can be a bit opinionated when new folks visit. I saw a review on Yelp last night when we discovered that our AC was not working and was encouraged by the reviews to give Frankie a call this morning. He got back to me right away and, while he could not give me an exact time, he thought he could get here later this afternoon and I told him I needed just half an hour's notice. He called later MORNING and was here before 30 min of that time. He was thorough, knowledgeable, efficient and, best of all, successful at fixing our AC! I would not only use him again, I am very pleased to recommend him here the day after I first heard of him on this site! His rates are reasonable and his service more than commendable. My unit will not last forever, but it will likely last awhile longer, thanks to Frankie. Thanks to Yelp for the intro, too.
Frankie and the team at Ice Hot Heating and Air Conditioning are fantastic, responsive, and most importantly, honest. I made the mistake of calling ARS for service when my blower stopped working and the technician quoted me over $4K for repairs and tried to convince me that I needed to replace my entire HVAC system. I called Frankie for a second opinion after looking up local HVAC shops in the area and he was honest from the get-go and extremely skeptical about some of the things the ARS technician had told me. His technician Craig, came over the next day and ended up quoting me less than $1K for the repair. They also managed to get a replacement blower motor right away and complete the install the very next morning. Simply outstanding service and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Icy Hot is a great company. I really appreciate Frankie and his team working on our heating and cooling units at our house. Craig just finished up the semi-annual preventative maintenance here at our house. In addition to great service, Icy Hot technicians are always prompt and arrive when they are scheduled to. Plus Icy Hot will send a reminder that they are planning on performing maintenance a number of weeks in advance allowing for proper scheduling which I think is a measure of a great business. Communication is key and I value that working with Icy Hot. Knowing that our heating and cooling systems are in working order and ready for either the Summer months or Winter months of North Carolina is very reassuring. Thank you all for the great service.
We have used Frankie for several years to maintain the heating and air conditioning systems at our home in Cary; we also had him replace our twenty-year-old furnace this year. I appreciate that he triages the most pressing service calls to the top of his queue while still being responsive; I can't remember a case where he couldn't come out on either the same day or the next day. His work has been top notch and he doesn't do "good enough for now" or apply temporary bandaids. If something does go wrong down the road, he stands behind his work. He arrives on time or calls if he is held up on another job. I believe he's a one-truck shop and I like working with Frankie on every call since he's gotten to know our house and systems.
I am somewhat skeptical on occasion with excellent reviews I read especially on service companies since they can be so subjective. Frankie and Icy Hot are the real deal. Waking up to a busted heat pump on a freezing morning is a serious bummer. Icy Hot was there within the hour, quickly assessed the problem and reviewed the options I had. Unlike the big franchise HVAC companies there was no strong upsell. He was focused on what would make financial sense for my situation, what would give me the biggest bang for the buck and within a day I was up and running with a new system at an excellent price. If you have heating and air issues Frankie is your Man. I highly recommend him and he is a contractor you can trust.
Frankie is really, really knowledgable, friendly, works fast and well, and prices are fair as far as I could tell. I called him at 9am on a Monday, he answered straight away and by 12:30pm he was at my house. He repaired and cleaned both of my AC units that hadn't been serviced in years in under an hour, and the house went from a mid-80s temperature back to normal, what a relief! He is very good at explaining what the problem is, why it's happening, and the options and costs to do something about it. He doesn't try to sell you on any service you don't need and is happy to work with the units you've got (mine are 15+ years old!) I will definitely be calling again if in another HVAC bind.
Frank and the team at Icy Hot Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. have been a pleasure to work with. They are responsive and overly communicative, which is greatly appreciated. They offered pictures and step-by-step explanations of what they were going to do, why they were going to do it, and when it would be done. I had an ancient air-handler that they helped me preserve until I was ready to replace it. They took time to understand the situation we were in and helped us come up with a plan of action instead of forcing the up-sell on the spot. When I was ready to replace the air-handler, of course I called Frank and team! Amazing and courteous customer service. Would highly recommend.
Icy Hot got our air conditioning fixed before our 15 month old had to have another miserable night, can't thank them enough. Our air went out on Sunday evening, we had another local company come Tuesday to evaluate the problem. They diagnosed a leaking evaporator coil and gave us a quote for a very pricey fix. Given the expense we were facing, I called around and Icy Hot gave us the best quote by far. Frankie followed up with me in a very timely manner and was able to get the part and do the repair within 24 hours after I confirmed to him that we wanted to move forward. Highly recommend Icy Hot for speed in getting the repair done, professionalism and best price that we found.
I believe I was one of Frankie's earliest customers, and he has earned my business for a good long time. Every time I call, he's prompt, professional and best of all, honest — he has been very clear with me that my nearly 20-yr old systems are running on borrowed time, but has not tried to push me into replacement like so many HVAC outfits will do. On his latest call, he remembered that the unit he was checking is a 'pack', so it's all outdoors. Which meant I didn't have to be home. He stopped by, took care of the problem by 11 am, called me, and sent an e-mail invoice. That's how I like to do business.
I had a great service experience with Icy Hot. My AC went out over the weekend. I called first thing in the morning, and made an appointment for the same day. I received a call later in the day, letting me know they were running late because of some inclement weather we had earlier. When they arrived Frankie introduced himself and got right to work. He diagnosed the problem quickly (bad capacitor), fixed the problem quickly, tested the coolant levels (good), and fixed a leak in the Schrader valve. I felt what I was charges were reasonable. I'm very happy with the service I received.
I wish it was possible to give a 10 star rating, that's how happy I am right now!! I called Frankie this afternoon and he arrived at my home within 30 minutes of calling. He diagnosed the issue that I was having with my furnace, and even brought it in so I could see the damage and what needed to be repaired. His total visit between arrival, diagnosis, and repair was 2.5 hours! He was very nice and completely honest and fair. I have heat again!! I will be calling him back in the spring for some A/C work. Frankie and his fellow workers are extremely reputable and honest. I'll always use them for all my HVAC needs. We recently had some issues with both our units and they did a fantastic job of repairing both units. We had two other estimates with local HVAC companies and discovered that Frankie was the most knowledgeable and fair. I'm so happy we found them! We could have spent lots of $$$ and not even addressed the problem. It's amazing how many HVAC companies out there are unskilled and total rip offs. Frankie and Icy Hot will always be our HVAC specialists!!
Frankie and his assistant epitomize professional and fast. They are friendly but his focus is not to joke and socialize. He is very efficient and good at his craft. He asks quick questions and deduces your problem quickly and efficiently. He gives you the info straight and explains in detail why he is doing what he is doing if you are interested. I personally liked his style because I am a busy person and love to get to the point, find the solution and move on to my next thing for the day. He was the exact correct technician and I will be using him again.

These guys were awesome!! I know very little about air conditioning systems, but they explained my system to me so that I could understand what needed fixing (in a very friendly and non-condescending way!). They were also very respectful of the home; they kept their shoes clean and they were careful about keeping the door closed when my cats were out for the consultation. The price was fair and explained to me in itemized detail before the service began so I knew what to expect and where my money was going. I would highly recommend this team!
I cannot say enough about Frankie and the manner in which he corrected my heating problem! I was certain that I probably needed to replace my whole unit and after Frankie came over, he diagnosed the problem quickly and had me up and running in no time at all. Icy Hot (Frankie) very well could have taken me for a great amount of money, but his honest nature and trustworthy business practice showed otherwise! I've been doing work with Icy Hot for several years now. I just had my fall maintenance done by Tim, who was a newer tech with the group. He was simply fantastic. When he found a problem he didn't just quickly point it and give a price. Instead, he took the time to show me the issue, and only recommend a fix. When I decided to go with the fix, he put on a master class on the unit, and really took pride in showing his client the difference in the system. I so enjoyed Tim and I have always stood behind the quality and service of Icy Hot.
My AC went out during the hottest days of summer that we've had so far. I called Icy Hot Heating and Cooling after having called another company in the area. The other company had installed my new heating and AC unit approximately 3 years ago. When the other company came out they informed me that repairs to the unit would cost me $1883.00. Icy Hot came out, and did the repairs for around $600 including cleaning and replacing the filters for me. I'll be calling Icy Hot for any repairs I need in the future. Awesome, and affordable!

I am a new customer. Been searching for a long while. My job was completed today. What can I say! Good customer service is difficult to find now a days. They were very respectful and very knowledgeable. These 2 persons were detailed and treated my 2 systems as if they were working on their own devices. A new part needed to be replaced and re-installed due to poor quality of work when installed in 2018 on one system. The price was reasonable for what needed to be done. Thank you Icy Hot.. my HVAC units have found a new guardian.
I've had them come out 3 times over the last few years and they've been great! They act like they actually like their job. They know their stuff. One time another company told me I'd have to call an electrician but ICY HOT had some part on their truck and replaced a switch that was melting or something and walked up into our attic and fixed the AC during intolerable summer heat. I signed up for their contract which is every 6 months instead of paying for a year up front. You will not get some sort of slick hard sell from them.
My fan engine in my AC unit failed and was making a terrible racket and not cooling, so I called Icy-Hot after reading all of the good reviews. I called them at 2pm and my unit was repaired before 4:30pm. My house never had a chance to even get warm inside on a 90+ degree day. These guys were no nonsense, all business, and friendly. They showed me exactly what was wrong with my unit. The cost was exactly what I expected and they didn't try to sell me on a bunch of other services! I highly recommend Frank and Icy Hot.
Hands down one the best experiences I’ve had with a HVAC company. My houses AC unit fan stopped spinning and I was worried it would need to be replaced or cost an arm and a leg to have the issue resolved. It has been an extremely hot and humid week, the house reached 77-78 at night. I called Icy Hot the first thing in the morning and in less than 2 hours they serviced my AC unit and they replaced a capacitor. Now my ac is blowing cold and running smoothly again! Great experience and will always recommend Icy Hot!
Frankie and his guy are great! They came within 30 minutes of my call. He was quick, smart, and upfront about prices. He'd make all the calls necessary if you need something replaced and it's still under warranty. He'd drive back to his shop, pick up a single unit AC, drive back to your house, and install it for you to keep you cool while you're waiting for the part to arrive. ALL FOR FREE. He didn't mind that it was after hours either. I highly recommend Frankie. You'd be happy with his service and price.
Frankie was fantastic!! Of course my heat stops working on the coldest day of the year. Called multiple companies who said they couldn't come until the next day. Called Frankie and he was at my house in an hour. Thoroughly checked everything and explained the problem in detail. He had to order a part, so he let me borrow a space heater to keep warm in the mean time. I was also impressed that he wore covers over his shoes while he was in my house. I would recommend Frankie to anyone with HVAC troubles!
Great experience with Icy Hot! My 25 year old upstairs heat stopped working. I had a couple of other places come look at it and they were actually stumped. They didn’t know what was wrong with it. Frankie from Icy Hot came by took a look and within 20 minutes provided me with a temporary affordable solution to get me through the winter. Called Frankie and he answered immediately. He was busy but made time to take care of my HVAC needs. Very professional and easy to work with. We have used Frankie for all our heating and a/c needs for the last 6 years. During that time our aged system has had a number of problems. Whenever we call, Frankie is very responsive and has brought it back at a reasonable cost. We are confident that Frankie and the technicians that work for him (unlike other companies we have used) are focused on maximizing the performance of our existing system rather than selling us a new system. In other words, we trust both his work and his integrity.
Franky is a very professional technician. I had a problem with the upstairs air conditioning, where my kids sleep, and it was extremely hot. I gave his company a call after hours praying someone would pick up, but not really expecting anyone to, and he picked up, showed empathy to the fact it was my kids being effected, and showed up fixed the drain pan. I cant thank him and his company enough. Its really good to see compassion come back after having bad experiences with other companies.
Frankie is such a stand-up guy. Called on a Monday to have him come out and quote us for a new heat-pump system, showed up Tuesday morning on-time (actually a couple minutes early). Took his time analyzing what we needed, did not oversell us on extra's, recommended long-lasting & easy to repair equipment (validated with consumer reports and other sources), had a quote to us the next day, and could schedule within the week. Very honest guy…no pressure sales. Highly recommended.
Our AC stopped working the night before my husband's day surgery. Frankie answered the call and was able to schedule with me for the next day, and since the next day was a Saturday, that means he was willing to come on a Saturday as well. He called, as promised, prior to arriving, went straight to work, and took care of the problem for us. He was friendly and efficient, and we even got an electronic receipt. I strongly recommend him to anybody needing good, quick service.
Can not say enough good about the folks at Icy Hot. Based on reviews I called them to check out an AC unit in Durham I was having issues with. They came out right when they said they would . The unit was old and I decided to replace it. The owner , Frankie, came out and quoted me on a new system. Once I gave him the approval he ordered and came out and did the install on the day we agreed upon. Very good follow up and easy to work with. Will use them for future needs.
Have nothing but good things to say about this company. I had the upstairs system replaced 10 years ago, and the downstairs finally replaced yesterday after 28 years. Frankie is always there when he says he will be and always does what he says he will do. The installation crew worked 13 hours straight to get the job done. After another service left us hanging, I called Frankie and he got the job done. The first company was nice on the phone and came out when promised. But the tech couldn't find the problem and needed to order parts. After 3 weeks of waiting, I called IcyHot. Frankie was responsive and came out the same day. He did a great job of explaining what he found and had the parts on hand to complete the job. I will definitely call Frankie for our future A/C needs.
Discovered Icy Hot in 2019 and have been with them ever since. They have never come up short answering calls, scheduling timely appointments or getting service jobs done without issue. Based on my own service experience I find their service pricing to be very fair. When a fan motor failed post covid and parts were scarce they put in the time to track down a new motor and got it installed within a few days. I highly recommend Frankie and his crew.
The heat stopped working on a cold day end of March and the house filled with a burning smell. Called Icy Hot that morning and Craig appeared a few hours later. He was methodical in determining the cause of the problem and very cost conscious in recommending the parts to fix it. Heat And AC working better than before the HVAC Blower failure. Highly Recommend. HVAC repairs are always costly and these guys actually care about helping you.
I can't say enough! I called Icy Hot and the owner returned my call from abroad. He arranged for one of his assistants to come on the day I called and assured me he was good. Adil was, in fact, fabulous…patient, smart and persistent. He fixed a noise problem that had stymied every other repair person. Thank you, thank you, thank you Adil! I had not heard of this firm before, but other YELP reviewers are right. They are VERY good.
AMAZING JOB!! Highly recommend this company. Scheduled my appointment for Saturday, the repairman showed up, I explained the issue and he gave me a look of confidence and knowing what was wrong with my unit. After 5 minutes of fiddling, he diagnosed the problem and gave me a price. I paid him and within 30 minutes the unit was repaired. He had the parts needed in his bag, he didn't have to leave. He was prepared and super friendly.
Franky does good work, I've called him multiple times, he's very responsive. Franky is honest, straightforward, and doesn't beat around the bush and give you bs about this work. Does the work neatly and explains it if you needed it. He works quickly and efficiently, both times my AC repairs were done in under an hour. I would call him again. You could find a cheaper AC repair crew, but then again, you'll get what you pay for!

Frankie and his team are honest and reliable. I called Icy Hot to get a second opinion after the crooks at Service Experts told me I needed to replace my existing HVAC. Frankie looked at the system and quickly determined the capacitor was not working, "very common" so he went to his truck to get the new part and was finished in 20 minutes. Hard to believe I was about to waste a ton of money on a new system, call ICY HOT first!
I reached out to Icy Hot late on a Friday night because our AC Unit had died. Frankie responded immediately and came out the very next day. We have a newborn and an almost two year old, so it was critical that we had a way of cooling down our house. Frankie dropped off the new unit installed it in no time. Frankie is a very honest person. For me, honesty is the most important trait when it comes to picking the right HVAC contractors for AC repair service. It can mean the difference between paying for unnecessary new install when a repair was all that was needed. Its refreshing to see people who put the customer's needs ahead of their own. That's why I will be calling Frankie again in the future.
My service Tech, Adil, was professional, prompt and did a great job for a fare price. My AC had a leak in the coil which they found quickly. Unfortunately it took 9 days for the warranty part to arrive and the gas leaked out again. They came out at no extra charge and added more gas to my unit to give me a few more cool days. The unit is repaired and is working well. Great customer service.
It's so nice to call a business and be able to talk directly to the person you need to talk to, rather than an assistant. Icy Hot was recommended to me by a friend after some bad experiences with other heating and air companies, and I'm glad we called Frankie! He was quick, friendly, and good about following up afterward to make sure everything was ok. I'd recommend him to others, for sure!

Frankie told me he would schedule a technician for between 3 & 5 pm the next day. That's exactly the way it happened. The service tech was friendly and professional, even putting on shoe covers before entering the house. He diagnosed the issue with the furnace and I was charged a fair price for the repair. I'll definitely be calling them back if I have any future issues.
